Chapter 10: Penny Goes To The Man-Village

Elsewhere in the jungle, Penny, Shifu, and Sulley were walking together.

"Hey, Shifu," Sulley said, "too bad you missed the action. You should have seen how I made a sucker out of Strong, Dark, and Creepy with that left in his face. Boom, boom, I was giving him wham!" He then turned to Penny and said, "You know, we're some good sparring partners."

"You better believe it!" Penny said with a grin.

"Yes, ma'am!" Sulley said. "Nothing or nobody is ever gonna come between us again."

He and Penny both hugged, until Penny heard the sound of a game going on. Curious, Penny followed the direction of the sound and parted some bushes. What she saw was a village surrounded by walls made of tall sticks. A football flew out and landed near a pond. Shifu and Sulley joined Penny, just as Penny saw a boy run out of the village.

This boy looked to be around Penny's age, had black hair with a cowlick that stood up near his forehead and brown eyes, and wore a black T-shirt with a thunderbolt on it inside of a green circle, blue jeans, and black and white Converse sneakers.

"Don't worry, guys, I got it!" The boy said.

"Well, hurry up, Wilbur," a voice yelled.

Penny was in awe. She had never seen anything like him before.

"Look, Master Shifu," Penny said, "what's that?"

"Oh, it's the man-village, Penny," Shifu explained to her with a smile.

"No, not that," Penny said, pointing at the village, before she pointed at Wilbur. "I mean him."

"Forget about it, he's nothing but trouble," Sulley said, but Penny's curiosity was aroused, as she slowly snuck towards the lake to get a better look at Wilbur.

"Just a minute," Penny said. "I've never seen one before."

"Well, you've seen one," Shifu said, "now, let's go."

"In a moment, master," Penny said, as she climbed up a tree. "I just want a better look."

"Now, Penny, wait a minute," Sulley began, but Shifu said, "Oh, Sullivan, just let her have a better look."

Penny climbed up on a tree branch over the lake and watched Wilbur searching the bushes for the football.

"Let's see, it's around here somewhere," Wilbur said.

But, as Wilbur was searching near the lake, he suddenly noticed Penny's reflection in the lake before he saw her.

"Hey," Wilbur said to her.

All Penny could do was blush, before the branch broke and she yelped, as she fell into the water. Wilbur laughed and an embarrassed Penny quickly got out of the water and rushed back to hide, but Wilbur said, "Hey, wait a minute."

Penny turned to him and he said, "I'm Wilbur Robinson, what's your name?"

"Penny," Penny said, with a shy smile, before she spotted the football in the bush, picked it up, and handed it to Wilbur.

"Wilbur, did you find it yet?" the voice called.

"Yeah, coming!" Wilbur said, before he waved good-bye to Penny and went back to the village.

But halfway there, he turned around and tossed the football to Penny, who ducked, and it landed in the bushes again.

"He did that on purpose," Sulley said.

"Obviously," Shifu said.

Penny timidly picked up the ball and looked at Wilbur, who smiled and winked at her, making her blush again and look at him with a dreamy look on her face. Wilbur went back to the village and Penny followed, but once she was at the entrance, she hesitated and looked back to Sulley and Shifu.

"Penny," Sulley said, "come back, come back!"

But Shifu just encouraged her, "Go on, go on."

Penny stared at Wilbur and then smiled dreamily, before she turned to Sulley and Shifu and shrugged, before she went into the village.

"She's hooked," Sulley said.

"Oh, it was inevitable, Sullivan," Shifu said. "The girl couldn't help herself. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Penny is right where she belongs."

"Yeah, I guess you're right," Sulley said. "But I still think she would've made one swell monster. Well, come on, Shifu, buddy. Let's get back to where we belong. And get with the beat!"

He clapped his hands and began singing.

Sulley: Look for the bare necessities

He grabbed Shifu, who yelped.

The simple bare necessities

Shifu laughed and joined in.

Shifu: Forget about your worries and your strife

Both: I mean the bare necessities
Are Mother Nature's recipes
That bring the bare necessities of life

As the two danced back into the jungle, the camera slowly pulled back for one last view of the jungle, as the sun started to set.

THE END
